GREEN CODE WhatsApp has SECRET codes that allow you to unlock the features of the app

WHATSAPP is loaded with lots of handy shortcuts that make editing your texts much easier.

Codes allow you to format your texts in seconds - for example, by adding strikethroughs to words or bolding key parts of your message. It's a handy way to quickly change the look of your text - or parts of it - to help it stand out. Of course, you can always make these changes by simply highlighting the text in the text box. You can then tap on the highlighted text and format it from there. However, this is now just as fast (and fun) as using the various shortcuts we've listed below. In addition to the bold and strikethrough options, you can use them to italicize or monospace your messages. Try the codes below - you never know, they might come in handy.

ITALIC
To italicize your message, place an underscore on both sides of the text:
_text_
BLOD
To make the message bold, place an asterisk on either side of the text:
*text*
STRIKETHROUGH
To strike through a message, place a tilde on both sides of the text:
~text~
MONOSPACE
To single-space your message, place three backticks on either side of the text:
```text''`

Other ways of formatting
You can also perform these actions using shortcuts on Android and iPhone.

• Android: Tap and hold the text in the text box, then select Bold, Italic, or More. Click More to select Strikethrough or Monospace.
• iPhone: Tap the text in the text box > Select or Select All > B_I_U. Then choose Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, or Single Space.
