Description Of Tunic
Tunic,
originally named Secret Legend, is an action-adventure video game developed by
Canadian indie developer Andrew Shouldice and published by Finji. The game was
released on March 16, 2022, for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X via Steam, Xbox One,
and Xbox Series, then on September 27, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and
Nintendo Switch.
Game mode
The
game is played with an isometric view. The character the player controls, an
anthropomorphic fox, can interact with objects and fight as needed, much like in The Legend of Zelda series.
Development
Tunic
is developed by one person, Andrew Shouldice, who was a developer at Silverback
Productions for about six years. In 2015, after participating in a few Ludum
Dare events, he wondered what he could produce if he devoted all his time to
his personal projects, instead of only dealing with them on the weekends. So he
decided to leave the studio to go freelance.
As he
began working on the game, he became interested in publisher Finji, who then
offered to edit and help refine the game, using the experience gained while
developing Moss for the PlayStation. VR. The game reappeared during Microsoft's
presentation at E3 2018, where it was announced that it would release on Xbox
One and Windows alongside. The game was finally released on March 16, 2022, on
Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X via Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. It releases on September 27, 2022, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
